When you use a Raz Vape, you expect it to deliver up to 25,000 puffs of pure pleasure – that should be enough for several days or even multiple weeks of vaping goodness. So, it might come as a bit of a surprise when you go to use your Raz Vape and find that it isn’t working. What could the problem be, and what can you do to fix it? Why won’t your Raz Vape hit?
Before we get too far into the weeds, we’re going to start you off with a bit of good news: In many cases, you can fix a Raz Vape that isn’t hitting and get back to vaping in just a few minutes. The bad news, of course, is that some issues aren’t fixable. We’ll cover both the fixable and the unfixable situations in this guide, though, and we’ll help you figure out how to tell the difference.
Let’s dig in and see if we can get your Raz Vape hitting again.
Charge the Battery
If you’re using a recent Raz Vape like the LTX 25K model, your device has a screen with a battery indicator. Does the indicator say that the battery is dead? If you’re using an older model without a screen, is the light flashing when you try to hit your vape? In either case, it means that your device’s battery is dead.
It might surprise you that your Raz Vape doesn’t have a battery that lasts the whole duration of the device – especially since Raz Vapes don’t include charging cables to help keep the costs down. It’s actually not possible to create a pocket-sized vaping device with a single-use battery that lasts thousands of puffs, though, and that’s why all modern disposable vapes have rechargeable batteries. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable, and you’ll be back to enjoying those tasty Raz flavors in a half hour or so.
If the screen doesn’t turn on when you connect your Raz Vape to your computer, the device may have a charging issue. Follow these steps to troubleshoot it.
- Use a different USB cable to charge the device.
- Connect the Raz Vape to a different computer or to a wall charger with an output of 5 volts, 1 amp.
- Check for lint in the Raz Vape’s charging port and remove it with a toothpick.
If your device still isn’t charging after you’ve followed the above steps, you probably have a dud and should return it to the retailer if you can.
Open the Airflow Switch
Have you ever looked at the switch on the bottom of a Raz Vape and wondered what it does? The switch is there to adjust the device’s airflow, so you can get a tighter or looser draw according to your preferences. As you move the switch, you’ll see the airflow hole getting larger or smaller. If you’re having trouble pulling air through the device, it’s possible that the switch was knocked out of its position – maybe when you were carrying the device in your pocket. If the airflow is closed, just move the switch to open it again. Your Raz Vape should start hitting.
Check for a Faulty Puff Sensor or Clogged Airflow Channel
If you know that your Raz Vape’s airflow switch is open – and the screen is on, but nothing is happening when you try to use the device – it’s likely that the problem is somehow related to the device’s puff sensor. A puff sensor is a switch or membrane that moves when air travels through the vape’s airflow channel, causing the device to turn on. It’s possible for the puff sensor to stop working correctly, either because it’s stuck in place or because the airflow channel is clogged. Try these two things to fix it.
- Take a few quick, firm puffs to get the puff sensor moving again.
- Tap the Raz Vape gently against your hand a few times to get the sensor unstuck and break any air bubbles that may be impeding airflow.
If your Raz Vape is working now – but it makes a gurgling sound when you use it – it means that the airflow channel is still clogged with e-liquid. Usually, this happens because you’re puffing much more firmly than you need to when using your device. You’ll heed to continue vaping until the situation resolves itself. In the future, puff on your device more gently.
Check the E-Liquid Meter
Is your Raz Vape hitting but producing an unpleasant burnt flavor every time you puff on it? In this case, you need to consider the possibility that your device is actually out of e-liquid. If you’re using a recent device like the Raz LTX 25K, you have a convenient e-liquid meter right there on the screen. If you’re using the older Raz TN9000, though, you’ll have to go by your sense of taste. A badly burnt flavor means the device is empty.
If your vape doesn’t seem to have lasted as long as it was advertised to last, consider these three things.
- All vape manufacturers exaggerate the capabilities of their devices a bit. You’re not really going to get 25,000 puffs out of a Raz Vape unless you’re only puffing for about a half second at a time – which almost no one does.
- Are you sure that you’re only using your device when you really need the nicotine, or are you vaping mindlessly all day long because it keeps you busy? If you only use your vape when you really need to, there’s no reason why it can’t last a week or longer.
- Are you sure that your Raz Vape is authentic? Fake vapes do exist, and the factories that make these devices always target popular brands like Raz. A fake vape won’t be made with the same high-quality components as an authentic device, and it could also be underfilled – which means it won’t last as long as it should. If you buy your Raz Vapes from a trusted vape shop, you should never have to worry about counterfeit devices.
