The COVID-19 pandemic took a toll on us all in one way or another. Some people got sick, while others lost their jobs, residence, and loved ones. And the worst part about it all was the total lockdown. I’m pretty sure family vacation ideas were the last things on your mind then.
Luckily, the lockdown is over and normal routines have resumed with very few restrictions. After surviving a year of pandemic-induced lockdowns, I am sure you and your family are eager for some much-needed holiday travels to get out and explore again.
Of course, much has changed since the pre-pandemic era, some for the better, others for the worse. As you get ready to explore some vacation spots, I’ll be updating you about the new and renovated tourist places to check out during your travels. Each of these tourist attractions will give you the chance to make some unforgettable memories.
1. Alentejo, Portugal
In the Alentejo province of Portugal, you’ll find the most amazing landscapes. The incredible soft hills, calm-inducing sunsets, and easy-going culture are exactly what you need after the lockdown you’ve experienced. You can enjoy cycling past beautiful beaches, lighthouses, and fishing villages, or you could head inland for wineries, castles, and farmers’ markets. The accommodations and hospitality are absolutely wonderful, a perfect place for a vacation.
2. Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland is another amazing location to visit after a year of lockdown and movement restrictions. There are several vacation activities you can indulge in, while on the island.
Reykjavik is a place where the sun barely sets between mid-May and mid-August and the temperatures are simply perfect. It’s never too hot or too cold in the summer months.
You could visit the Blue Lagoon with its steaming geothermal waters, or check out the Sky Lagoon to have an amazing time. Enjoy the geothermal spa experience, blending cold water, warm water, warm steam, and dry heat with fresh air. It’s a vacation you won’t forget in a hurry.
